A collection of my images

I dont like this picture as i feel it is slightly unfocused and her eyes and facial features aren't clear.

I feel this picture is slightly clearer but not as clear as i'd like i also feel that her eyes are not open enough.

I like this picture but i feel there is too much noise and here eyes are not clear enough, which i'd like them to be to capture the audiences attention.

The thing i don't like about this picture is how you can see the reflection of the camera on the screen of the computer. Unlike the other images the screen of the computer is blocking out quite alot of the rest of the room.

This is my favourite thumbnail image.

I like this picture as it shows off the libary with the high ceilings and large glass windows. But i think there may be to much attention on the screen of the computer.

I like how in this picture you can see some other Wyke buildings but i think over all it is too dark.

I like this image but i don't like how strong the light is that's shining on to the models head.
This is my favourite out of all the images i took for my main image. it is clear and her eyes are looking directly into the camera.

Pomona College LIIAR Analysis

LIIAR:
L – The Mast head is Pomona College magazine; this will be easy for the members of the college to remember. The Main image is a picture of a new born baby looking tiny held in someone’s hands. The baby is so small and cute looking that it’s asleep it attracts the audience’s attention. The Colour scheme is green and shades of brown, the green writing really stands out. There is no thumbnail picture, just the main image which takes up most of the page. There is also very intriguing anchorage ‘birth and death’ There is also some information at the top of the magazine which tells us about some inside issues that mainly seem to be related to birth. There is no price or barcode and no advertisement of competitions or free gifts. Everything on the page relates to the main image of a baby.
I – This is a college magazine so there most probably won’t be any other magazine of the sort for that college and so students will want to purchase it.
I - I think the magazine is mainly informative and wants to get across information to students. It doesn’t seem to try to make things fun but the picture and contents seem interesting but just not fun, and maybe slightly old for 18 to 21 year olds.
A – The target audience is students of Pomona College generally aged  18 to 21 year olds as it is a college in America.
R – The target audience is able to put to use all the information in the magazine later on in to their work so they must find it very well in that way. Because the magazine is so intellectual the students are represented very positively.

Grimbsy College LIIAR Analysis

LIIAR:
L – I think the Grimsby College magazine is more interesting than East ridings and the Heading looks more interesting as it is large in an interesting font and stands out. The main image is ok although the boy seems to be overpowering the girl who has writing over her and is a lot smaller. The colour scheme is orange blue and white which looks better than the East Ridings. There are a couple of thumbnail images but you they are not clear which article they are for. Again there is no price or barcode or competitions.  There are three articles advertised, one seems to be aimed more to females, one more to males and one at both but all three seem to be interesting for 16-19 year olds to read.
I – The magazine is to get across information to students of the Grimsby College, I believe it was done fairly well and although the contents page is a bit too busy with too many things going on I like the names of the article and thing that teenagers will want to read on. The adverts on the contents page possibly fund the magazine but they do make it look too crowded.
I -  Its conveying serious information in a cool and fun way, it has articles on drugs and alcohol, and also world wide knowledge from someone who’s been to china and a model who attends Grimsby college. This is showing that Grimsby College have the students best interests at heart but they also want to keep them interested and motivated.
A – The target audience is students of Grimsby College generally aged 16 to 18.
R - They include the target audience by saying things young people use such as ‘ the word on the street’ and ‘booze drugs and life’ the college is represented in a cool way by the blue and orange colour scheme and it is portrayed as a positive place to be.

East Riding College LIIAR Analysis

LIIAR:
L - The masthead is ‘Student Life’ but I find this to plain and not memorable and I also think the font is very boring and doesn’t stand out. The main image is very bland in black and white colours of students from the back, not making the reader want to even read on and not connecting in any way to the reader by being appealing or making eye contact. The colour scheme is very dull in black and white and there are no thumbnails to introduce other articles. There is no price or barcode and the contents along the bottom are unclear and uninteresting. There is no advertisement of competitions or free gifts and no main article is featured.
I – The magazine is to get across information to students of the East Riding College, I believe although I do think it could have been done in a much more interesting and exciting way.
I – I think the magazine is trying to get points across to students mixing it with things about cars and beauty and accommodation so there is something in there for everyone but also notes from the principal and more serious issues. I think this is a good way to make students want to get the magazine, knowing it has things they are interested in, but there will also be more serious things made fun.
A – The magazine is clearly aimed at the students of East Riding because of inside issues on the contents page such as ‘your thoughts’ but I think they could have made the magazine more appealing to 16 – 18 year olds by making the front cover more appealing to look at
R – Because on the contents page there is pictures of students art work, students holding up certificates and doing various activities the college is representing their students in a positive way.

LIIAR Analysis of the brief

L- My product will contain a mast head which will be short and memorable and presented large with an icon. My main image will be an MCU, the picture will be posed for and making eye contact into the camera, I will possibly include anchorage. I will have a bring colour scheme with a  two or three colours and include a price and barcode, teasing contents, possibly competition and free gifts and an advertisement of the main article and a feature image. I may also include other thumbnail images to illustrate inside articles.
I - I am producing my magazine for Wyke college, there a similar magazines by Hull College and Grimsby College but there is a gap in the market as there currently isn’t one for Wyke College.
I – For my college magazine I would like it to get across important information in a fun and appealing way so students will want to read the magazine.
A – My chosen audience is college students, generally ages 16 – 18 for both boys and girls of Wyke College
R – I want the magazine to portray Wyke College In a positive way, also showing students in a positive way.
