My Evaluation in LIAAR

LIIAR analysis of my magazine
L- The title of my magazine is WYKE COLLEGE MAGAZINE this is memorable as it’s the college’s own magazine so students will still associate it with the college. I presented it largely on the page to grab reader’s attention. My main image covered most of the page and was of the head and shoulders only, I tried my best to make the subjects face clearer but I think it could have been made clearer. She is making contact with the camera so it looks as if she is looking into the audience’s eyes, making it seem as if the magazine is aimed at them. I used a bright purple and white for my colour scheme although the picture of a football with a florescent green added a nice different bit of colour. There is thumbnail images to illustrate articles with anchorage, the magazine is free, which I stated and so there doesn’t need to be a bar code. Along the bottom I advertised chances of competitions and winning an iPod touch. My main image links with the feature article and it is made clear they connect as it advertises it slightly overlapping my main image.
I – My magazine is different to others as it aimed at Wyke students by Wyke students, all articles are fun but informative, and it gets the point across whilst still appealing to students so they want to read it.
I – My magazine contains articles about becoming a professional footballer, becoming a model and Wyke party’s but it also includes features more serious mixed up with the fun, articles about university choices and safe sex.
A – My Magazine is aimed at anyone who attends Wyke College; generally this is 16-19 year olds which is why I have included articles about parties, pretty girls and football which is what this age group is generally interested in.
R – The students are portrayed very positively in this magazine. There is page which show off their recent achievements and it informs them of lots of upcoming opportunities.
